THE CHURCH OF CHRIST
TOPIC:ASPIRE TO GROW
TEXT: HEBREWS 5 : 12 -14
We can learn many things from Apostle Paul concerning the wisdom of God he used in handling the challenges in the Church at Corinth to make the saints grow up in faith. He said, "To the weak I am weak that I might gain the weak, I am made all things to all men that I might by all means save some". There is no doubt that the congregation had become weak due to the challenges facing it when he visited them, so Paul had to be mindful of how he relates with them.
They needed nurturing through the truth which he had to feed them before scolding them if they fail to obey. A wise man bends down while talking to a dwarf because he knows the action has not made him a dwarf but good enough to pass his message. This is the secret of building strong relationships. Paul's prefers to act like a good farmer who cultivates, and weeds his crops until it bears fruits.
When Jesus started his ministry, he told his disciples, "Come, I will make you fishers of men" and after some time when he expected them to start bearing fruits, he said "Whoever is not ready to carry my cross is not fit to be my disciple. "It only becomes dangerous when a weak person wants to remain weak and does not see the need for him or her to become strong. Anyone who desires to remain a baby in the kingdom of God, to be nurtured forever is not fit for the spiritual race.
PRAYER: God, open my eyes to see the reward of growing in faith daily in Jesus' name. Amen.
