TOPIC:SPIRIT OF GRATITUDE
TEXT:COLOSSIANS 1 :12-14
Gratefulness is supposed to be an all-time thing and not an occasional affair. Two powerful words that can easily take someone to greater heights are, "Thank you". These words have a multiplying effect because it is like telling the giver that you want more. Taking from people without forgetting makes it easier to show gratitude. Each of us should concentrate on finding what is good in every situation in order to fill our lives with feelings of gratitude.
If you have the habit of showing gratitude, you'll be doing what many people are not doing and be on your way to becoming a better Christian. A person who is grateful for everything in life will give the gift of smile to everyone he meets and let it show in his eyes. Sooner than later such a life will show more progress than another one whose gift to everyone is a frowning face.
Appreciate others and be grateful to them by not seeing yourself as too important to open your hearts to people of different background. Be different in a world where people are not appreciative or grateful even for genuine reasons. Sense of appreciation creates positive emotions, feelings or passion in our hearts which in turn generates positive beliefs and confidence that we need to do right things. According to Sarah Breathnach, "You will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you". The word of God had expressly stated this fact and we can never overemphasize the essence of showing the spirit of gratitude in our Christian life.
PRAYER : Lord, give me the spirit of gratitude to appreciate what you are doing in my life and to appreciate others as well in Jesus' name. Amen.
